John Macarthur was legendary for his Marino sheep grazing in the rolling hills of Camden as well as giving to the local community for the better of life for the harsh colonial days.
Now Peter O’Brien, manager of Macarthur Ford has kept this tradition going from their name sake by providing vehicles to Sports Challenge to allow them to bring their much needed programs to Campbelltown, Minto, Ingleburn, Liverpool and Horningsea Park.
As Peter explains: “Sports Challenge is doing a wonderful job with our kids, the best Macarthur Ford can do is give them some wheels!”
Following on from Macarthur Ford’s generosity, Anne Hyeronimus from the Wivenhoe Polding Centre in Camden has also come to the party by providing some great rural accommodation to the Sports Challenge mentors. Jade Warrington, mentor, says: ”After the long days with the students it is fantastic to come ‘home’ to the sanctuary of Wivenhoe and the smiling face of Anne to welcome us, it means a lot.”
We salute you Macarthur Ford and the Poldings!
