Thanks to the proud support of DrinkWise Australia, Sports Challenge was able to recently send Programs Coordinator Sydney Nusbaum to Katherine, NT, where she worked in partnership with the YMCA at Youth Week.
Thanks to the proud support of DrinkWise Australia, Sports Challenge was able to recently send Programs Coordinator Sydney Nusbaum to Katherine, NT, where she worked in partnership with the YMCA at Youth Week. Throughout the week, Sports Challenge lent a hand with all activities and events taking place in the Katherine region. One of the highlights of Youth Week was the Pool Party organised by and held at the YMCA on Saturday evening, to which hundreds of local youth were invited. Fun was had by all as the children enjoyed a sausage sizzle, the music and lights provided by the “dj” of the event, as well as an inflatable obstacle course in the pool!
Lisa Elliott, director of the YMCA Katherine, was the primary organiser of all YMCA sponsored Youth Week events, which included the pool party, rock climbing, a swimming carnival, as well as a disco to finish the week’s activities. The week was a tremendous success, and truly showed the local appreciation of the effort put in by Lisa and her support team at the YMCA. Sydney was thrilled with the warm Katherine welcome she received, as well as the opportunity to get involved in such a positive and rewarding initiative.
