The students from Timber Creek display their fitness and skill talents to the Sports Challenge Team
The Sports Challenge team of Dr Garry Tester (CEO), Aden Jeanes (Track and Field) and Cameron Watkins (AFL) completed fitness and skill testing of all the students at Timber Creek on Thursday (17 April 2008) and are now awaiting the official results, even though they are quietly confident that the results will be of a high standard. The results of the fitness and skill tests (PQ Testing – please see links on website for complete outline) where the Timber Creek students will be compared to Australia wide averages by both age and gender will be completed this coming week. So stay tuned!!!
Our first program for 2008 ran very smoothly, and this could not have happened without the support of the staff at timber Creek, Caroline Brennan-Tucker (Junior), Liz Loudon (Middle School) and Phil Bell (Upper School), not to mention Terrie Fogarty who cooked up a storm at Lunch time for the coaches and made us feel part of the Timber Creek family.
The SC team will again be back for Sport Week on Mon 2nd June 2008 until Fri 6th June 2008,where the Timber Creek students will pit their sporting skills against other her local schools in the area with the support of the Sports Challenge mentors providing their skills to help run a successful week of activities. Sports Challenge has also left behind daily physical Activity resources for the teachers to run with the students, so with this and their natural ability I am sure that Timber Creek will perform strongly during Sports Week.
This fantastic trip would not have been possible without the support of DrinkWise Australia and Skywest Airlines who support many Sports Challenge programs – so if youa re looking to see a little more of Western Australia please see the fabulous staff at Skywest who will be more than happy to assist with your travel enquiries!!
